Bula Vinaka! We are delighted to welcome you to Savusavu and specifically to the beautiful Natewa Bay!
Matthew & Sara invite you to join one of our small-group snorkel trips in Natewa Bay and enjoy an incredible snorkeling experience, with pristine coral reefs and abundant marine life. We are proud to claim that this is the best snorkeling in Fiji, and many guests tell us that this has been their best snorkel experience anywhere in the world.
Our snorkel trip is unlike other tours that visit the most popular sites closest to Savusavu. We offer a half day excursion for those slightly more adventurous travellers looking for somewhere a little off-the-beaten-track and an escape from the crowds. You will be assured of a unique experience as we take a maximum of 12 guests on our spacious boat, and we generally have the reefs to ourselves.
As well as an abundance of beautiful hard and soft corals, we see an amazing variety of colourful reef fish, and sometimes reef sharks, rays or turtles. If conditions allow, we can journey to a sand bar where you may even have a chance of seeing the resident pod of spinner dolphins, although sightings are not guaranteed.
We normally spend 3-4 hours cruising the bay, including the scenic ride out to our best reefs, and snorkeling at either one or two different sites depending on time. Our custom-built boat has a full sun canopy, bench seats and a sturdy dive ladder to make getting back onto the boat easy. Obviously weather conditions can vary, but Natewa Bay is generally fairly calm, and we have sites that are sheltered in almost all conditions. In any case, there will be at least one snorkel guide in the water with you at all times, making sure that everybody is safe and pointing out interesting marine life that we find.
We can also offer life jackets that guests can wear to make them feel comfortable if they are not particularly confident in the water, but snorkelers should at least have a basic swimming ability. Our boat captain will stay on the boat at all times and we always give guests the option to get back on the boat at any time if they get tired or cold (they can always get back in the boat once they have had a breather!).
3-4 hour boat and snorkel tour on our spacious dive boat (features include full sun canopy, bench seats and sturdy divers ladder)
Experienced snorkel guide with extensive knowledge of local marine life
Snorkel equipment (mask, snorkel and fins) if required
Life jackets available for less confident swimmers
Light refreshments (e.g. water, banana bread, hummus and crackers)
We do not include transport to and from our boat mooring at Natewa Bay, but we will happily help to arrange tranfers.
Please note: We will endeavor to cancel trips only in exceptional circumstances, but reserve the right to reluctantly cancel when weather and ocean conditions would severely compromise either safety or guest experience. We are in the tropics and changeable weather conditions bring rain at times, and strong winds can make conditions a little choppy.
